John Kingsley Lattimer
It is with great sadness we note the passing of our great friend and mentor, John K. Lattimer, MD.
Dr. Lattimer was instrumental in the revival of the Medieval Festival at Ft. Tryon Park in 1983 and has been a guiding force at our faire ever since. Dr. Lattimer was Chair of the Urology Department of Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons for 25 years, and served on the Visiting Committee of Arms and Armor of the Metropolitan museum of Art, Dr. Lattimer said of the festival, "One of the grandest traditions of New York City is The Cloisters, one of the richest areas of history is Medieval times. This is a way to highlight the past and brighten the future."
Wassail, Dr. Lattimer . . . Additional support comes from craft and food vendor fees and individual donations by festival visitors.
