New this year at The South Lawn Village

For the first time, they'll set up a medieval village on
the south lawn which will be blessed with a royal visit
from the King & Queen of the East Kingdom.

The visit will be celebrated with two fencing
tournaments
and a youth combat tournament!

Watch armored fighters compete for the honor of
representing the province as its champion for the upcoming year.

Also, be sure to visit the welcome test for details and times of all
the SCA's happenings including: fun activities for children, hands-on arts & crafts classes and demonstrations, dancing on the green, chorus,
and medieval weaponry displays.

Chateau-Gillard Castle
Bunratty Castle

Bunratty Castle is a large tower house in County Clare, Ireland. It lies in the centre of Bunratty village, by the N18 road between Limerick and Ennis, near Shannon Town.

The name Bunratty, Bun Raite in Irish, means the 'bottom' or end of the 'Ratty' river. This river, alongside the castle, flows into the nearby Shannon estuary. From the top of the castle, one can look over to the estuary.

The castle and the adjoining folk park are run by Shannon Heritage.
